When was the last time you saw someone who was perfect? Perfection isn’t something we can achieve, though we may strive for it. However, people who are truly happy don’t have to be perfect in order to feel good about themselves. When you feel comfortable in your own skin and body, you get that inner glow that makes people notice and remember you, and that glow comes from having self-confidence.

Know your body type

In order to feel comfortable in your own body, you should first take time and really get to know your body type. This way, you will understand where you are most likely to put on weight, but also which clothes are best for you. If you have a thin waist, you can emphasize it by wearing pencil skirts and statement belts, shapely legs will look great in skinny jeans and knee-high boots, while those with extra weight around the middle should choose shirts and dresses with empire waist. When you wear clothes that complement your body type, you will feel confident and comfortable. This is one of the reasons why so many Australian women choose to create their own style, and not blindly follow trends.

Move it, Move it…

It’s amazing just how much physical activity can change our lives. Not only is working out great for losing weight and staying fit, but it improves your health as well as your mood. You don’t have to spend long hours sweating in a stuffy gym if you don’t want to – sometimes simple morning or evening jog, bike ride to the nearest park, or an hour at the swimming pool will be enough to improve your mood. In Sydney, many girls choose to take up pole dancing because it makes them feel sexy and powerful. Besides, once you start working out on regular basis, you develop a healthy habit which will keep you vital for many years to come.

Experiment with hairstyles

Many of us are reluctant to experiment and improvise when it comes to their hair, so we end up wearing the same hairstyle we liked back in high school. You would be surprised to discover just how different you would look if you decided to cut and/or dye your hair. Embrace the change, cut off your hair and donate it to an organization that makes wigs for children who are undergoing chemotherapy. Not only will you feel great with your new hairstyle, but you will know that your hair has helped someone in need.

Pamper yourself

You don’t have to spend a fortune and travel to an exotic destination to try out different mud treatments. You can pamper yourself in the comfort of our home; simply dedicate a day to you – put on comfy clothes, apply hair and face masks you can make in your kitchen, take a long, bubble bath, and watch your favourite movie. You will feel refreshed and ready to face new challenges after a spa day at home.

Emphasize your best features

Very few of us were blessed with flawless skin, which is one of the reasons why makeup has become a form of art. Makeup allows us to cover minor imperfections, scars, blemishes, and freckles, and to really draw attention to our eyes and lips. Still, there are times when makeup alone just won’t do, which is why Aussie women choose cosmetic procedures. Dermal fillers in Perth are particularly popular since they don’t require surgery in order to get great results. If a professional helps you get rid of a minor imperfection that’s been bothering you for a long time, you will feel like a different person.

Remember that feeling good in one’s skin isn’t something that happens overnight. We need time, patience, and practice to overcome insecurities, but in the end, it’s worth it. Audrey Hepburn said that happy girls are the prettiest, and it’s happiness, not perfection, that we should all look for in life.
